IRCTC Price list was recently issued by IRCTC for the food served on Indian railway stations and trains. The food rates in the latest food menu rate list are very nominal as compared to it is being charged to the passengers.
Most of the time or it will not be incorrect to say that always passengers are charged double price for food while traveling in a train. In running train no one wants to indulge in arguments and therefore unavailingly has to pay any price for the food item. Many passengers complained about it from time to time through written complaints on social media about their experiences with the poor quality food and complained about the extra price charged by the vendor.
IRCTC has released a price list of food items which are sold in Mail/Express trains because Union Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu has said that there will be no compromise on the quality of food provided to the passengers traveling in a train.
The rate list provides the correct rates of food that should be charged to Passengers along with quantity of the food items to be served. This rate list includes price list of breakfast items, tea, coffee and lunch of both Veg and Non-Veg food items.
It is advised that passengers should always insist for a bill after buying food in train and upon availing catering services in trains.
IRCTC Price list will help passengers to know the actual price of food items. Passengers can also request for a menu card before buying any food and a bill after buying even a tea. Please pay attention and raise voice if required, it will help us all.
